Natural disaster in Georgia - 7 people died, 31 people are still missing

As a result of a natural disaster in Racha, Georgia, seven people died. Rescuers are searching for 31 people, including children, who are still missing after landsliding.

A landslide hit the tourist resort of Racha on August 3. As a result of heavy rainfall, the mountain slope collapsed and the river overflowed, causing uncontrolled processes. 

According to the available information, one of the largest hotels and several cottages collapsed. Bridges on the highway had been swept away by the landslide.

According to the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia, 210 people have been safely evacuated.

Two Mi-8 helicopters, 400 rescuers and volunteers are taking part in SAR operations.
