The authorities continue to persecute opposition parties in the run-up to the elections. In recent days, representatives of various parties have been fined several times for putting up election posters and stencils in the streets.
The last time it happened was last night - "Girchi" member Marian Bezhitashvili was fined for 1000 GEL.
Bezhitashvili was told that he was painting a stencil on a cultural heritage monument, which is prohibited by law.
However, the fined Bezhitashvili tells us that he painted the election stencil not on the cultural heritage monument, but on the wooden fence surrounding the building near the Rustaveli Theater.
