Georgian President Salome Zurabishvili does not answer the question concerning the return of former President Mikhail Saakashvili to Georgia. Today she gave such an answer to the journalist's question:

Recall that on August 27 the third president of Georgia Mikhail Saakashvili spoke about his return to Georgia and Georgian politics. He apologized to the public for his mistakes and said he was confident that the will of the Georgian people would win.

Shortly after coming to power, the Georgian Dream initiated a series of cases against Georgia's third president.

Saakashvili left Georgia in 2013, after his presidential term ended.

The prosecutor's office accused Mikheil Saakashvili of raiding the Imedi TV channel on November 7, 2007 and beating deputy Valery Gelashvili. President Saakashvili is connected to the so-called "Blazer case" - the Prosecutor's Office accuses the third president and former head of the special security service of the State Security Teimuraz Janasia of stealing budget funds, in particular 9 million GEL. Saakashvili was also charged in connection with the death of Sandro Girgvliani.

At that time, teammates of the third president spoke about "unfair political persecution" of Mikheil Saakashvili.

Mikheil Saakashvili has so far been sentenced to imprisonment:

In the case of Sandro Girgvliani, he was sentenced to three years in prison and in the case of Valery Gelashvili to six years in prison.

Mikhail Saakashvili has been the chairman of executive committee of the National Council on Reforms of Ukraine since May 7.
