Voter bribing and political violence - ISFED Report

Published:

Public organization "Fair Elections" assesses the pre-election period and notes alarming trends. The NGO has revealed facts of voter bribing, physical violence and political threats.

According to the document, there is another trend: clergy are actively attending events dedicated to the nomination of candidates from the ruling party, which can be used by the ruling team as a means to win the support of voters.

According to the organization, violations such as bribing voters, abuse of administrative resources, political pressure, threats and dismissals, participation of church officials in the government campaigns and social projects aimed at obtaining the consent of voters have been revealed.

ISFED polls show that attempts to bribe voters are particularly alarming. According to the report, only 17 cases of bribery were registered last month, with the involvement of  the ruling party and the Alliance of Patriots.
