Noise in Zugdidi - Public officials confront members of "Lelo"

Published:

In Zugdidi, members of "Lelo" were confronted by public officials during a meeting with voters. About 10 employees of the Library and Improvement Service accused Mamuka Khazaradze of insulting the leader of the National Liberation Movement, Merab Kostava. According to the party, the confrontation was organized by the mayor of Zugdidi, Gega Shengelia.

The verbal confrontation turned into a physical confrontation, but the situation was soon calmed down by the law enforcers. According to Khazaradze, the incident was a pre-planned provocation.

Recall that this is not the first time that members of "Lelo" have been challenged in the run-up to the elections. On September 4, Giorgi Glunchadze, the head of the party's Didube-Chugureti district, was physically assaulted. The attacker was later arrested on charges of violence.
