Putin's major challenges and when he will give up the power - interview with Russian Kremlinologist Lilia Shevtsova.  "If not political, there are biological limits... The question is - when and how?!" – analyst states.

Speaking of Putin's role
in the international arena, Shevtsova says that Russia can't anymore be "a big power" if its economy is in a drastic decline, which is due to the Coronavirus. The latter,  Shevtsova believes, remains Putin's main challenge nowadays.

In an interview with "Mtavari Channel", Shevtsova also spoke about Aleksei Navalny; she thinks that a leader who has lately been poisoned with Novichok, has become "the most prominent, vocal and courageous leader. He became a political institution in Russia. He succeeded across Russia in what not a single political party has succeeded. The poisoning of Navalny makes Russian opposition helpless... our politics is dead at the moment."- she adds.

In her interview, Lilia Shevtsova also spoke about the upcoming elections in September in Russia, as well as Khabarovsk protests, and protests in Belarus.

Topics discussed are also part of Shevtsova’s article"RUSSIA’S CORONA CHALLENGE: DOMESTIC AND FOREIGN POLICY IMPLICATIONS". The publication was made possible by the Black Sea Trust, within the framework of a project of the German Marshall Fund of the United States and published in Georgian by EPRC Georgia.
