Published:

Facebook has removed fake accounts and pages related to Russia from the social network. Among them were three networks, which also targeted Georgia.

The fake accounts, groups, and pages were managed from  Russia and were intended to spread their own content about ongoing processes in the United States, Syria, Ukraine, Armenia, and Belarus, as well as NATO.

Our investigation has linked these clusters to Russian military agencies, including military intelligence services,- Facebook said in a statement.

According to Facebook, 214 personal accounts, 35 pages and 18 groups, as well as 34 accounts of the social network "Instagram" have been deleted for violating the social network policy against foreign or state interference.
