Are we making a territorial claim to Azerbaijan today ?! - Opposition on the statement of the prosecutor's office

Playing with fire - this is how political leaders assess another absurd case against Mikheil Saakashvili launched by the Prosecutor's Office. The opposition also raises questions as to why the timing of this uncertain case coincided with the beginning of new hostilities in the Caucasus region.

According to Salome Samadashvili, the accusation is absurd and Ivanishvili is using the judicial system against his political opponents.

According to David Bakaradze, it is unclear which is demanded by the Georgian government during the ongoing confrontation in Karabakh - - "Is our government making territorial claims to the Azerbaijani government today?! - said Bakradze.

Labour Party leader, Shalva Natelashvili says that during Ivanishvili's rule the territory of the monastery complex was taken away, and if Ivanishvili's authorities knew about the wrong demarcation, they should have instituted proceedings 8 years ago.

Gia Volsky says he doesn't know more than what was said in the prosecutor's office statement: "It's an urgent matter of state importance, the opinion of mine and my opponents has nothing to do with it," Volsky says.

According to the Mtavari  Channel, the reason for the investigation was the maps that were handed over to the Georgian side by a Georgian businessman close to the Kremlin.

David Khidasheli, who brought those maps to Georgia more than a month ago, first appeared in Georgia when he transferred 200 billion euros to the Georgian government for the purpose of fighting against COVID 19.

Commenting on the maps, Nika Gvaramia said the government was going to make the information public a few days before the elections, but "we were ahead of them.  We said we knew that information". It should be noted that last week Nika Gvaramia said in the program "Main Accents" that the investigation department was preparing a new indictment against Mikheil Saakashvili.
