Topuria's family members do not know what became the reason for the arrest. Moreover, they do not know when the trial will take place.
"I visited one of the detainees who told me that he had not had any physical or verbal clashes with law enforcement agencies. Koka Topuria, the rector of the University of Georgia, was also arrested. The University of Georgia is one of the founders of Mtavari Channel," said lawyer Dimitri Sadzaglishvili.
According to Topuria's relatives, the police have not informed his family about his arrest. "The people just disappeared. If we have no personal contacts with the police, it turns out that there people simply disappear. As far as I know, many people are detained, but no information about them is spread," said Kôte Ioseliani, a member of the UNM.
