Another nonsense by Mr. Kobakhidze - the opposition assesses the accusation against Gavrilov

Irakli Kobakhidze's accusation that Gavrilov, Russia and the opposition parties - the UNM and European Georgia - acted together and are to be blamed for the June 20 events is assessed by the opposition.

"The Georgian Dream and the oligarchic regime are a very important lever for the Kremlin to increase Russian influence. No one believes Kobakhidze's statements, this is another nonsense" , – said the UNM leader Khatia Dekanoidze.

"The Communist Party was distinguished by crazy lies. We warned the government not to invite this man who was involved in the massacre of Georgians in Georgia", – said George Kandelaki, a member of the European Georgia.

"Georgian Dream argues that Kobakhidze's clearly stated position needs no explanation.

"Irakli Kobakhidze always makes his position very clear, and I don't think he needs my explanations" , – said Nino Tsilosani, chairwoman of the single-party parliament's Agricultural Affairs Committee.

Beka Davituliani believes that bringing Gavrilov to sit in the parliament was a bad thing for Georgia.

 "We also felt responsibility  as the force behind this mistake and responded  appropriatly" – said Beka Davituliani, deputy chairman of the single -party parliament.

Recall that Kobakhidze says that Gavrilov's night is the result of a joint action of the opposition and Russia.

In 2019, the Speaker of the Parliament, Irakli Kobakhidze, hosted  the MP of the occupier country, Sergey Gavrilov, and finally put him in the chair of the Speaker of the Parliament, which was followed by a peaceful protest of the citizens.

On the so-called "Gavrilov night", on June 20, 202 civilians were injured, including journalists, people were shot with rubber bullets, young people lost their eyes.

The then chairman of the parliament - Irakli Kobakhidze - was also dismissed.
