In honor of the New Year, EU Ambassador to Georgia Carl Hartzell delivered a special video message and greeting. In the video, he performs the famous New Year's Eve song "Snowflakes"  with his wife Mete Hartzel and Georgian musician Zaza Khutsishvili.

In his New Year's Eve greeting, among other important issues, Hartzell highlighted the country's political crisis following the 2020 elections.

"The year 2020 began with one political crisis and ended with another. I believe Georgia will also overcome this crisis. I trust  that the day will come when the political energy spent today fighting each other will be used to unite and strengthen the country. It will be as strong as the citizens of Georgia deserve. Georgia is a small country but a great nation. Together you can realize your  dreams  and aspiration. Together, you are simply unstoppable. The  holiday season  is a time for reflection and rest," - Carl Hartzell wrote.

The ambassador notes that many of us will not be able to spend the vacations with family this year. He said he and his wife would be away from their two daughters, one in Ireland and the other in Sweden.

The ambassador concluded his congratulations with the hope that in 2021 we will give the word COVID-19 its proper place: in history textbooks and dictionaries.

"Let us appreciate the bright days, share each other's burdens and hope that normal life will gradually return to Georgia and Europe. Let us appreciate the bright days, share each other's burden and hope that normal life will gradually return to Georgia and Europe," the ambassador wrote.
