We no longer see the sense of talking to the government - the business sector is discussing an action plan

"The Georgian People vs. the Government of Georgia" - Citizens are appealing to the Constitutional Court over regulations and a state of emergency imposed in the wake of a pandemic that violates property rights, business freedom and basic human rights.

Industry representatives say they are now consulting with each other to develop a plan of action. Members of the business sector say protests are inevitable because the Dream will not back down on anything else.

"I don't think it makes sense to talk specifically to the government today because we came to the conclusion yesterday that they just don't want to open anything and they don't want to  bother  themselves. Because of this, at this point we don't see the resources to talk to the government, it's a waste of time.  We will agree on the steps that could be more radical" , - said Tsotne Japaridze, managing partner of the travel company Traffic Travel.

Levan Kokiashvili, a representative of the Georgian Gastronomic Association, said the economy won't be able to obey the epidemiologists because people are suffering greatly.

"This has led to an increase in the gap between business and the state, I've lost all sense and hope that things can be understood in a constructive conversation," - he said.

Street protests and lawsuits are the blueprint by which ordinary citizens, the business sector and nongovernmental organizations are going to continue the fight.
