"It was a coup attempt," Gavrilov demands apologies from Melia

Sergei Gavrilov, a Russian State Duma MP from the Communist Party, says Nika Melia, a member of the National Movement, is being detained not for attacking him, but for an attempted coup d'état.
Sergei Gavrilov is demanding apologies from Melia:

I know there was an attempted coup in the summer of 2019, and if Nika Melia is arrested, it is not because of an attack on me. It's just an excuse to justify a coup. I don't have the possibility  to monitor internal political processes in Georgia, but if you're interested in my opinion, I could be wrong, but it was a well-planned coup attempt, and the goal was to seize power by Saakashvili," Gavrilov said.  "

Nika Melia, chairman of the UNM, responded to Gavrilov's statement at a special briefing, saying that Georgian Dream received another political assignment from Russia through the Communist MP.
