Parliament lifts Nika Melia's immunity - 88 in favor, 2 against

The decision to meet the prosecutor's motion to lift the immunity of the chairman of the UNM Nika Melia and replace the bail with imprisonment was made in the parliamentary session - the parliament has suspended the mandate of Nika Melia.

94 MPs had registered, and the consent of 76 MPs was required to lift Nika Melia's immunity. The parliamentary majority at the meeting supported the lifting of immunity from the leader of the main opposition party: 88 in favor and 2 against.

Citizens' representatives Aleko Elisashvili and Levan Ioseliani did not support the lifting of Nika Melia's immunity. As for Nika Melia, the leader of UNM is still not going to pay bail, he is observing the parliament session from the UNM headquarters and says they won't arrest him.
