Tbilisi City Court has satisfied the motion of the Prosecutor's Office to impose detention on Nika Melia instead of bail as a measure of restraint.
Judge Nino Chakhnashvili has announced the decision recently.
The Prosecutor's Office applied to the court to place Nika Melia in custody on February 16, soon after the parliament removed Nika Melia's immunity.
The motion to change the bail to imprisonment was filed by the prosecutor's office after Nika Melia publicly stated several times that he would not pay the bail, 40,000 GEL.
After the term for paying the bail expired, the prosecutor's office took actions as stipulated in the procedure.
Recall that Nika Melia has been charged with organizing violence in the June 20, 2019 case and its leadership under Article 225, Parts 1 and 2 of the Criminal Code of Georgia.
