Lelo leader Badri Japaridze delivered a unified opposition address to citizens gathered at a rally in front of the parliament building. Opposition parties said that to defuse the crisis and return the process to a peaceful course, It is necessary to stop political persecution, release political prisoners and call new elections.

"Today, 100 years after the Soviet occupation, the Ivanishvili regime poses a mortal threat to Georgia's freedom and the security of our country. The challenge is to overthrow our sovereignty. In order to defuse this crisis and return to a peaceful process, it is necessary to end the political persecution, release Nika Melia and Giorgi Rurua and set new parliamentary elections according to the system and rules established by the joint opposition.

 

This is the main demand of the Georgian democratic opposition parties and this position will not be reconsidered," - Badri Japaridze said.

According to him, even though the Georgian Dream's top officials are not going to make any real changes now, these changes will be achieved through continuous peaceful protest.
