The escalation of the political crisis is very worrying for the EU, and for me personally - Michelle

The president of the European Council says that the European Union demands an immediate solution to the current political crisis in Georgia. He said this after a meeting with Salome Zurabishvili.

"My meeting here today, as well as yesterday in Moldova and tomorrow in Ukraine, is a message from the EU partners to the countries of the region. The EU has to support Georgia and protect your sovereignty, your territorial integrity. We know the region is very complex. We also support the ambitions to bring about reforms and to stabilize this situation with COVID-19. I would like to take advantage of my presence here and once again send you a message of friendship from the EU. As you know, my visit is taking place against the background of an escalating political crisis, it worries both the EU and me personally. The EU calls on all parties to work hard to neutralize the situation," said Charles Michel.
