President of the European Council meets with Gharibashvili

The President of the European Council, Charles Michel continues his official visit to Georgia, this time he is meeting with the Prime Minister, Irakli Gharibashvili. The meeting is being held at the government administration. The government administration clarifies that the main topic of conversation was the political crisis.

"It was noted at the meeting that it is important that, in the light of the challenges in the world and in the region, the parties make efforts to conduct the ongoing political processes in Georgia in a constructive, dialogue mode," the administration said in a statement.

According to them, the focus was on the dire humanitarian and human rights situation in the occupied territories and the facts of illegal detention of Georgian citizens.

The conversation also touched upon the start of the coronavirus vaccination process and the support of the European Union in this regard.
