Insults and threats to kill the Mtavari Channel journalist by the mayor of Mestia

Mtavari Channel journalist Emma Gogokhia has become a target of aggression by local high-ranking officials in Mestia. The mayor of Mestia, Kapiton Zhorzholiani, first verbally insulted, then threatened to kill her, and finally offered her money to leave the country.


In the phone recording, which has already been handed over to the police in full,  Zhorzholiani is heard cursing and threatening Emma Gogokhia.


"Emma, your mother f * er, Emma. . Can't you refrain from doing bad things for a little while .. Do not get into my sight, leave the country, I will give you money!"


To the journalist's question: "Doesn't this conversation make you uncomfortable?", The mayor of Mestia answers: "It does not cause any inconvenience", which is followed by swearing again".


After this telephone conversation, Emma Gogokhia's car was damaged by unidentified persons.
Mtavari Channel journalist Emma Gogokhia who arrived in Mestia to prepare a reportage on the report of Transparency International Georgia about the involvement of the mayor of Mestia, the majoritarian MP and their entourage in the alleged corruption scheme,  became the target of aggression from the local officials.


Nika Gvaramia, General Director of the Mtavari Channel, responded to the incident and demanded severe punishment of the Mayor of Mestia.
