"Their goal is to get to the source somehow," said Nodar Meladze, head of TV Pirveli's news service.
The court allowed the prosecutor's office to remove the materials from TV Pirveli.
According to Nodar Meladze, the judge's decision and the prosecutor's motion make it clear that their goal is not to investigate the facts mentioned in the journalistic investigation, but to find out the source directly or indirectly.
It is our duty as journalists to protect the source and we have the right to do so by law. We did not provide the information about the source during the interrogation, neither will we provide any indirect reference to the source," said Nodar Meladze.
TV Pirveli has released audio recordings alleging that Bidzina Ivanishvili's son, Bera Ivanishvili, and incumbent Prime Minister Irakli Gharibashvili planned to punish those who wrote critical comments about Bera on the social network.
