The main thing said here was: enter and use proportional force - Nika Gvaramia on "TV Pirveli"

The General Director of the "Mtavari Channel" assesses the current events around TV Pirveli as pressure on the media and attempt of intimidation:
The request of the Prosecutor's Office to TV Pirveli: it can't be called either the Prosecutor's or a request.
- 1. The Prosecutor's Office has the right to request only the material since it contains signs of a crime and the Prosecutor's Office has an obligation to respond to the crime
- 2. Complete stupidity is a request for some specific chip and some envelope. For 2 reasons: this carries the risk of violating the privacy of the source, which is protected by absolute privilege ("Source name" is widely interpreted to mean not only the name but also any details that may cause the source to be identified, such as where you met, when, under what circumstances and so on). Other than that, and the main and completely funny thing: maybe the flash drive and the envelope were destroyed as well, what nonsense are they talking about? And if the TV people answer these questions, what are they doing then?
- 3. The abovementioned is substantiated in such a way both legally and logically that it is impossible to have any other aim than intimidation. The main point here was to get in and use proportional power, which is also so absurd both legally and logically, and so damaging to the prosecution and the government itself that it can only mean one thing - intimidation of the channel and, consequently, of other opposition channels, and complete media terror. Also, and no less important, to intimidate potential sources and whistleblowers' system in advance.
