Published:

"You are not just a third country for the European Union," said David McAllister, an MEP, while assessing the ongoing processes in Georgia. According to him, the European parliamentarians were watching the situation in Georgia with concern.

I wholeheartedly welcome the meeting that is currently taking place in Georgia, the EU is not a player on the political arena in Tbilisi. We listen to both the government and the opposition and we want the country to move forward. Democracy is ultimately a compromise. Let’s see what the outcome will be, the issue cannot be resolved in one meeting, but it can be the beginning of a dialogue process. For the EU you are not just a third country. That is why we are so concerned about what has happened in recent days and weeks, "said David McAllister.

He said that in this process, it is important for both sides to take political responsibility. McAllister met with Irakli Gharibashvili today.
