"I am resigning from my position" - Kakha Sabanadze.

First Deputy Interior Minister Kakha Sabanadze has resigned. Sabanadze wrote about it in the social network. Sabanadze cites media reports as the reason for his resignation. According to him, a thorough and objective investigation should be conducted on the case.

"I want to respond to the recent media reports and emphasize that I have served the state for many years and adhered to the law, the strict observance of which was, is and will be my priority. I believe that the above facts need to be investigated, so a thorough and objective investigation must be conducted to determine the truth. In view of the above, to ensure the credibility of the investigation process, I am resigning!

I think this will set a precedent for all officials to act with a high degree of responsibility when issues arise objectively in the community. I want to thank all the decent police officers I have worked with over the years. There are heroes working in the system, on whose shoulders stands the safety of our country. I want to wish them success in serving their homeland,"- Sabanadze wrote.
