I do not expect any sanctions - this is how the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Davit Zalkaliani, answered the question of the journalists, whether the ruling team is waiting for the sanctions, if the political crisis is not eased.
As for the negotiation process, as Zalkaliani said at a briefing held in the government administration, international partners are well aware that the Georgian Dream is ready for a compromise.
According to him, if the opposition enters the parliament, participates in the commission of inquiry into the elections and sees a 1% error, then the ruling team is ready for early elections.
"If the opposition parties enter the parliament, there is a readiness to set up a commission of inquiry, and the opposition parties themselves will lead the investigative commission. A comprehensive investigation should be conducted and in case of a 1% error, there is a readiness to call early elections.
The issue of political prisoners is not like that, there is an issue related to the arrest of the leader of the United National Movement and the position in this direction is clear. Readiness has been repeatedly stated that at any moment, when the bail is paid, he will be released, this is also a position expressed," Zalkaliani said.
