Posner did not violate the Law on Occupied Territories - Gharibashvili

Published:

According to Prime Minister, Irakli Gharibashvili, Russian propagandist Vladimir Posner did not violate the Law on Occupied Territories. He addressed the issue at a government meeting, noting that Posner and his entourage had entered the country in compliance with the law.

"First of all, I would like to point out that Vladimir Posner, who is also an American citizen, did not violate the Law on Occupied Territories. He often visits Georgia with a US passport. This was another private visit. He and his entourage had the so-called Covid passport and negative PCR tests. Consequently, they entered the country in full compliance with the law", - said Irakli Gharibashvili.

Recall that the Kremlin ideologue Vladimir Posner and about 50 of his friends left Georgia earlier than planned, today, April 1. The decision was reversed due to protests by civil society activists and politicians.

Posner arrived in Georgia on March 31 to celebrate his birthday. Civil activists greeted him with a protest rally. Rallies were held at both the Rooms Hotel and Vinotel, where Putin's friends were having dinner.
