I do not think that the statement of 7 MEPs will affect the strategic direction - Volski

Georgian Dream MP, Gia Volski thinks that the statement of 7 MEPs will not affect the strategic direction of our country. He said that the position of these MEPs is unclear because instead of talking about the root of the problem, they are threatening with sanctions.

"The position of these 7 MEPs is unclear. Instead of talking about where the problem comes from, why the opposition and the government could not agree, they are threatening to impose sanctions on Georgia if these 7 MEPs apply to the EU. For reference, there are several hundred MEPs. Of course, some scandalous questions may be asked and thought out, but the worst and most heartbreaking is the applause that erupted in the opposition political group, which is saying that it is good that this will happen, while it is their fault that we have not reached an agreement. This is the real picture and not that the EU has decided to impose sanctions. I do not think that the statement of the 7 parliamentarians will have any effect on the strategic direction, which is important not only for Georgia, but for all EU countries," said Gia Volksi.

Recall that after Christian Danielsson, Personal Envoy of the President of the European Council, Charles Michel, briefed the MEPs on the ongoing processes in Georgia, the European MPs issued a joint statement.
