They may have missed or misunderstood something - Samkharadze on the EU statement

Published:

Nikoloz Samkharadze, Chairman of the Foreign Relations Committee, responded to the EU statement.

"It could be a communication problem, it could be something they didn't understand or misunderstood. In any  case it is very easy to verify whether the recommendations of the Venice Commission have been implemented or not.

All tranches transferred to Georgia would be subject to certain conditions, this is a normal for EU. One of the conditions was that we should’ve changed the law in response to the recommendations from the Venice Commission and after that the second tranche would’ve been transferred.

We have amended this law in accordance with the recommendations of the Venice Commission,  so I don’t see what should be the impediment to the transfer of this tranche, so I don’t see what could be the impediment to the transfer of this tranche?” – says Samkharadze
