US Ambassador Kelly Degnan says resolving the political crisis is important for the country. She said that while difficult compromises would be needed, she believed the parties would be able to reach an agreement.

"It is very important to resolve the political crisis. This is the demand of the Georgian people. Georgian society expects the issue to be resolved as soon as possible and elected members to start working on such issues, such as the economic crisis or regional dynamics caused by Covid.
The government and parliament must work in full on these challenges. I believe that the parties will be able to reach an agreement and of course, we will play the role of facilitators.
While difficult compromises will be needed, I believe the parties will be able to reach an agreement." Said Degnan

On March 30, the second round of talks between the Georgian Dream and the opposition was held through the mediation of the Special Representative of the President of the Council of Europe. 8 hours of negotiations between the parties again ended in vain. The document proposed by Christian Danielsson was not signed by either party.
