Head of Secret Service appointed after one year hiatus

According to the government, the Prime Minister has appointed Shalva Lomidze as the head of the intelligence service.
The post became vacant after Levan Izoria was appointed ambassador to Germany and had not been in charge of the country's intelligence for almost a year.
"The geopolitical situation in the region and security challenges were discussed at the meeting held at the government administration," the agency wrote.
