In Ergneti, the meeting of the Working Group on Incident Prevention and Response Mechanism has been going on for more than 4 hours.
The main issues raised by the Georgian side in the villages of Kareli district are the illegal borderization carried out in recent days, as well as the issues of Zaza Gakheladze, Genadi Bestaev and Lasha Khetereli imprisoned in Tskhinvali prison.
Family members of Zaza Gakheladze, who is being held captive by the occupation regime, say that 290 days have passed since Zaza was arrested and no effective steps have been taken to release him. The family is also announcing protests.
"It has been 290 days since my son was imprisoned in Tskhinvali. Today is another meeting in Ergneti. I think 9 months and a half is a long time for something to be resolved for our good, I hope so" said Nana Bunturi, Zaza Gakheladze's mother.
"290 days have passed today and we are waiting for the result. This work should yield results today. We hope that this imprisonment will end today and Zaza will return to his family" said Irma Butkhuzi, Zaza Gakheladze's wife.
In parallel with the talks, a protest rally was held in Egrneti. Civil activists from Tbilisi accused the Georgian government of inaction.
