We can not be naive when it comes to the Putin regime - Cramon

Published:

MEP Viola von Cramon responded to a statement by Russian President Vladimir Putin at a plenary session, saying that when it comes to the Russian government and the Putin regime, it is impossible to be naive.

According to her, Putin complained of unprovoked attacks while forcing citizens of the occupied territories of Georgia and Ukraine to obtain Russian passports.

"During his last annual address, President Putin complained about unwarranted attacks on Russia by some states. The president made the announcement as 150,000 Russian troops were mobilized along Ukraine's eastern borders and annexed Crimea, while Alexei Navalny was fighting for his life in Putin's prison, while the Czech Republic uncovered links between Russian military service and the crime that killed two people. It did so when Ukrainians living in the occupied territories of Ukraine were forced to obtain Russian passports, just as it does in Georgia and Moldova, where European democracy and elections are under constant Russian attack, interference, and disinformation when Russian citizens are denied freedom of assembly and expression.

President Putin, are the reasons I have listed not enough to impose sanctions on Russia and criticize it ?! "Colleagues, when it comes to the Russian government and the Putin regime, it is impossible to be naive."
