Nika Melia, the chairman of the United National Movement, once again explained why the decision-making process regarding entering the parliament is being delayed. He said he did not want to announce the decision without communicating with the general public or even visiting several regions.
According to Melia, most of the party has made a specific decision regarding entry or non-entry.
"A lot of people have already made a specific decision and perhaps even I have done so, and there’s nothing left in our way to begin a briefing today and notify the public of the party’s decision, to take the decision upon myself as the legitimate chairman of the UNM, as one with such responsibilities should, but I will not do this on purpose
It has just been 4 days, that I am where I am, no longer where I used to be. I just don’t want to show disrespect towards a great many of this huge party, at the same time, I don’t wish to make this decision without visiting at least several regions. I want to have the opportunity to communicate with as vast majority of society as possible. After this, of course, a decision will be declared, which will be pragmatic and rational” said Nika Melia
