Members of the Georgian Dream say that the conflict in Dmanisi yesterday and today could not be discussed in ethnic terms. They claim the police are monitoring the situation on the ground and the perpetrators will be punished.

"People have been interrogated all night since last night and today. Every person has been identified. Law enforcement officers responded to what we were watching. Something really happened in a minute. The police may not have arrived in a minute, but all the people were identified very soon. They will be identified and held accountable" - Sozar Subari said.

He said it was a conflict that was on the ground and no ethnic conflict could be talked about in this case.

"We know that the police there are in control of the situation, but on the other hand I would like to call on the locals there, the community, to refrain from such actions as much as possible, since the ongoing conflict over life should not escalate and increase in scale." - Guram Macharashvili said.
