The mayor of Tbilisi, Kakha Kaladze states that talking about his candidature in the self-elections is too early. According to him, the elections will be held in autumn, so before then, there’s a lot of work to do.

As for the question on why did he, the mayor of the capital and the leader of the ruling party, didn’t attend the political council meeting, Kaladze explains that he had contact with a covid infected individual and so he was waiting for an answer from a covid test.

"I still hold the position that its too early to talk on this. As I have told you, the elections are in autumn so let’s wait, we still have a lot of work to finish, a lot of things to do.

Therefore. I tell you this, when the time comes, I will announce it truthfully and honestly, you will be the first ones to hear it, from either me, or the parties council’s head.

For me it’s the greatest responsibility to be the capitals mayor. I have fully grasped this responsibility. As for future plans, its too early to talk of these, when the time comes for this, ill be the first one to inform you.

Yesterday, I couldn’t attend to political council for two reasons, I was getting ready for a presentation and secondly, I had contact with a covid infected patient and I needed the answer for the covid test" – he said
