At the request of the founders of Rustavi 2, Davit Dvali and Jarji Akimidze, the court seized the television real estate. Lawyer Kakha Kozhoridze spreads information about the event.
According to them, both the land and all building upon it, that belonged to “Rustavi 2” have been siezed.
“Before now, at our request, 60% of R2's shares were seized. Now, R2 's real estate has also been seized in its entirety. We also demanded the seizure of R2 movables and the restriction of certain powers for Khalvashi. J. Akimidze and D. Dvali demanded exactly the measures that the court used in the lawsuit filed by K. Khalvashi in 2015. Nevertheless, the court again acted selectively against the founders of R2 and did not satisfy the request in this part, which will be appealed in accordance with the law” the lawyer wrote.
The last trial in the Rustavi 2 case was held on May 14. The judge called on the parties to negotiate and reach an agreement, though the founders have no hope of doing so. Akimidze and Dvali say that after the creation of the holding, the transfer of a large part of the TV company's shares to "Prime Time" is used by Kibar Khalvashi to deliberately hide the property.
After "Rustavi 2" and "Prime Time" merged into a media holding, only 10% of the shares of R2 were owned by the TV company.
The next trial in the city court will be held on June 1, on Rustavi 2's birthday.
