The EU Ambassador to Georgia, Carl Hartzell, commented on the ongoing processes related to the reform of the Electoral Code and noted that more talks on the project will be possible after the answers from the Venice Commission. Hartzell also noted, that it was a good sign that all parties worked on the changes together.
“it is too early to speak about the electoral reforms now, I know that the project was sent to the Venetian committee and I, like you, am waiting for their recommendations and remarks. It’s a good sign when all sides worked on this project together, including the signatories of the 19th April agreement. This is a strong signal, that everything is heading in the right direction. All else can be discussed after the response is received from the Venice Commission” said Carl Hartzell.
