“We unite for Georgia, but against no one”

“We unite for Georgia, but against no one. Our team is starting to get involved in politics for Georgia and I emphasize once again - against no one."

Giorgi Gakharia, the former Prime Minister of Georgia, has been named the Chairman of the party “For Georgia” by a unanimous vote.
During the presentation, Giorgi Gakharia made numerous statements about the current situation in Georgia, previous ruling parties and his plans for the future.

“There has not been a promise that has not been given out in our country. This, of course, shows the level of political culture here. Especially when, in a nation there is a crisis of truth, when we have to face the painful truth, what’s important to us, is the enormous deficit of responsibility for the handed-out promises.”

During his speech, Gakharia underlined that all the ruling parties, held nothing back on erasing the previous one’s legacy.

“We need a quick development plan, which will be consistent.Sadly, all of us remember that ever since our earned independence, for the last 30 years, every new ruling party, diligently destroyed the legacy of their forbearers. Even though, how good and clever this legacy was. We have to imagine, that we are building a house, and every government’s responsibility is to add one more floor to the last one’s structure. Everyone should clearly understand that, any government, no matter what they think, ruins the chance of a nation to develop, when they destroy the previous party’s legacy.”

Along with these talks, Gakharia also went over his reasons for leaving the “Georgian Dream” and offered his answers to the public:

“I resigned, because the party distanced itself from the real problems of our citizens. For simple reasons. Somehow, it was decided that the battle with our political opponents was more important, than the daily struggles of our citizens. I resigned because, even after 8 years of leadership, the ruling party still compared its greatest achievements to the reality of the nation 10 to 15 years ago and with that, ruined the perspective of our nation”

“I want to promise you and convince you, that I am not afraid to talk about anything I have done or been a part of. As I have answered every question before, I shall continue to do so, because our every step has its arguments, and the factors of which were values: to serve the people and the country”

Gakharia has also noted that the justice system is much better than it was 10-15 years ago

“Nobody denies that, our current justice system is much better than it was 10-15 years ago.This of course, is a fact. Nobody denies this, it is obvious even from the number of positive results, but this does not mean that we must not have an ambition, to make our justice system more effective, more just and more goal driven. This is a systemic difference and a systemic problem, for that reason, I stand here.”
