The leader of the main opposition party begins meetings in the US. Nika Melia left for Washington today on an official visit.
Meetings with members of Congress and the Senate are scheduled as part of the visit. Consultations will be held with non-governmental organizations and experts working on Georgian issues.
The main topic of conversation will be the current political situation in Georgia, as well as the self-government elections that became a referendum in the fall of 2021 and the involvement of Georgia's strategic partner in this process.
The future plans of the main opposition party will also be discussed during the meetings. Opposition leaders will also focus on the role of the West in the de-occupation process.
Tina Bokuchava and Nona Mamulashvili also left for the USA together with Nika Melia.
