The state is conquered and controlled by only one party - this is how the situation in the country is assessed by the President of the Jamestown Foundation, Glenn Howards. Nika Melia, the leader of the "National Movement", began his visit to the United States with the meeting with Howards.
"Meeting Nika Melia made a very positive impression on me. He used his time in prison to think about Georgia's future. Now Georgia is in a difficult situation, the state is under conquered and controlled by only one party. Georgia's future must be multi - party and these parties must be strengthened. Nika represents the future of Georgia. I think he and politicians like him are the guarantors of a strong democracy and a Euro-Atlantic orientation," Glenn Howards said.
The Jamestown Foundation was established to support Soviet dissidents in 1984. It provides American politicians with information on strategically important events and trends.
