"They are well informed on all important issues" | Nika Melia's meetings at the State Department

Elections and the justice system - two main issues discussed by the Georgian opposition leader in Washington. On the second day of his visit, Nika Melia holds meetings at the State Department, the Security Council and the Atlantic Council. The Deputy Secretary of State, representatives of the Security Council, former and current government officials, experts and analysts personally receive information from the Georgian opposition leader about the state of Georgian democracy.

Pressure on the government to accelerate judicial reform and a large number of observers in the local elections. These are the main requirements that can be met to maintain a democratic environment in the country - said Nika Melia in Washington.

The leader of the "National Movement" believes that the last five years, during which time the representatives of the main opposition party have not arrived in Washington, time was lost and the relationship with a strategic partner must be restored immediately.

It is gratifying to know that the United States is back in full force in Georgia, in our region. "They are very well informed about all important issues, they have information about the ongoing processes around our political party," said Nika Melia.
