Rustaveli Theater troupe will leave for Moscow

Published:

The Rustaveli Theater troupe will leave for Moscow. The State Theater will take part in the Chekhov Festival. The performances will take place on June 30, July 1 and 2.

"It is very gratifying that we can show the Moscow audience one of our last performances. It is an unusual play, an unusual author and I think the actors will not play badly either," Robert Sturua told Russian media.

Gia Tevzadze later justified the troupe's decision when speaking with the "Mtavari Channel"

It is acceptable, because we have to talk about this, we have to talk and make them understand how and what it is. Bloodshed and insults alone are not enough to accomplish anything, diplomatic and public language has always been the way – said Gia Tevzadze when talking to the “Mtavari Channel”

The Minister of Culture, Tea Tsulukiani, also responded to the same topic today, saying that she does not interfere in the activities of the theaters and everyone decides where to go on tour.
