Mamuka Mdinaradze, the Executive Secretary of the Georgian Dream, was the second member of the “Georgian Dream” to visit “Giorgi Gabunia's Interview with the Government" show on the "Mtavari Channel". During his interviews, he discussed many things, including the June 20 events, the August war and the “Gakharia conspiracy”

If someone says that the main source of power is polarization, we want to eradicate this narrative as well, because if from the other side, from the opposition or whoever, there is  constructive, business talk and actions tailored to the needs of society, we don't need polarization at all. This is not our agenda, our interest, but we often have to repel fake attacks, we often have to neutralize populism, and at this time behind the scenes, where the media does not reach, we are unfortunately not interested, we do things. That is why there is often a feeling in the society that we are only busy with mutual accusations, quarrels, political debates, but we have to do, in this case in a good sense, in parallel, a lot of things.

You have an audience,   it may be a small part of the community that may not be watching another channel at all. Like other channels, they can have such viewers and our goal is to convey our message to this audience ... Due to the lack of information, no one should be limited in the possibility of who likes it, who does not like it, etc., - says Mdinaradze.

When asked about the resignation of Giorgi Gakharia, the chairman of the “Georgian Dream” faction answered:

“This man resigned in the interest of the UNM, it’s a fact – he resigned for the formal chairman of the National Movement. The fact was that he backstabbed his team at the most critical of moments,” says Mdiranadze.

When asked about why the promises of the management team were not fulfilled, even the construction of an electric car factory in Kutaisi, he answered that:

“If we fulfilled 100% of the similar promises, instead of getting half the votes, we would have them all and the “UNM” would become subjective. No government in the world exists that has fulfilled all of its promises” – said Mdinaradze

Mdinaradze also touched upon the prosecutor’s office’s claims that the audio was edited in the Gharibashvili/Bera phone call case:

Why would someone, including your colleague, televisions producers, need to edit, cut and change this small conversation 170 times? If there were anything illegal occurring, they wouldn’t edit and cut it 170 times

He also talked about the call itself:

“Bera, Anzor Chubinidze and Irakli Gharibashvili can’t be presented as  abusers, you cannot  stick that label to them”

Afterwards, he discussed the June 20 events and claimed that it was a provocation by the opposition:

“It was a 2-hour-long provocation of the opposition, led by Nika Melia, as we could see there. It was two hours, not two minutes, so there’s no argument here. We watched for 2 hours, on live television, how the protesters assaulted the police and you, try to push a propagandistic  narrative which will not work. I talk about televisions, media, politicians, every one of them are guilty of this, this was, if you’ll excuse me, a PR insolence. They use such PR insolence that they try to twist what we saw with our own eyes, and claim that we are wrong”

Speaking about the arrival of the communist Gavrilov in Georgia on June 20, Mamuka Mdinaradze recalls 2016 and says that Slutsky and Kovalev were brought to the country by the decision of the then National Movement and Parliament Speaker Davit Usupashvili, but no one has noticed this fact back then.

"Slutsky and Kovalyov were brought in 2016, it suited them, because he was then in the National Movement, and then in the ranks of the so-called European Georgia, to support this man. The former head of the FSB. He came to support the National Movement," Mdinaradze said.

To the question of Giorgi Gabunia, who brought him in the country, Mdinaradze answered:

"It was a decision of Usupashvili and the National Movement. I do not want to attack Davit Usupashvili on TV, but that was the reality," Mdinaradze told the Mtavari Channel.

According to Mdinaradze, Slutsky and Kovalev were brought to support Gigi Tsereteli, who was elected to a high position in the OSCE at that time.

"If the arrival of Slutsky and Kovalev was not a problem in this country, who was Gavrilov in the Assembly to warrant such a response?" Mdinaradze said in an interview with Giorgi Gabunia.

Mdinaradze also noted  that the day was a mistake of the "Georgian Dream", "but not one that should have gone theatrically mad."

Lastly, he proceeded to praise the “Georgian Dream” for its achievements.

"It is clear to all objectively-minded people what the Georgian Dream is, how well it does European work, how much it has put in the constitution, how it worked to achieve  visa liberalization, how it has signed the Association Agreement, the reforms recognized by our international partners and who is fighting against it."
