The chairman of the US Senate Foreign Relations Committee, Jim Risch, responds to the death of cameraman Lekso Lashkarava and the ongoing processes in Georgia on Twitter. Jim Rish writes that all those responsible for the July 5 violence should be brought to justice in full compliance with the law.

Attacks against journalists, tourists & civil society in Georgia are reprehensible. I pray for Mr. Lashkarava & his family – those responsible for the violence should be fully prosecuted. Rule of law supports peaceful protestors, not violent perpetrators. Georgia must do better.
