Lekso Lashkarava was buried at Saburtalo Cemetery, next to his father

The cameraman of "TV Pirveli", Lekso Lashkarava was buried next to his father in the Saburtalo Cemetery. He was escorted to the cemetery by citizens, journalists, politicians and civil activists.
Lekso Lashkarava was escorted with applauded from his house, the cameramen made him a corridor of honor with inclined cameras. Lashkarava's body was escorted with applause and blaring horns, citizens joined the process with applause from balconies.
It is noteworthy that no government official came to express condolences to Lashkarava's family. Only the president expressed support for them.
For reference, Lekso Lashkarava was severely beaten by members of homophobic and violent groups on July 5. He was being assaulted by a number of people for several minutes, Lashkarava had broken facial bones and needed surgery. On the morning of July 11, he was found dead in his home by his mother.
