The case of Lekso Lashkarava will soon be taken to the Strasbourg court. The lawyers’ questions arose after Lekso’s body was taken for examination against the will of the family, and the involvement of independent experts in the case was delayed by several hours.
The lawyers think that this circumstance is already enough for the European Court of Human Rights to find a violation of the right to life guaranteed by the Convention.
"When we talk about the fact of Lekso’s death and the actions of the police, it was a very obvious and a harsh step, when the police forcibly transferred the body to the expertise Here we don’t question the immorality of the action, but its legality.
Therefore, since the questions exist, that certain manipulations have taken place, this question may very well become proof of the accusations of human rights violations, from the side of the Strasbourg court” said Edward Marikashvili.
