Journalists and media managers held a rally in front of the government administration, where they addressed the President of the European Council with a special joint statement.
Media representatives gathered at the rally say it is important for Charles Michel to know who he meets and what numerous media managers think about the Prime Minister.

"You should know that as long as Irakli Gharibashvili is the Prime Minister of Georgia, the lives of all journalists and citizens are in danger," journalist's address Charles Michel.

We, the journalists, whose 53 colleagues were physically assaulted by openly pro-Russian, aggressive groups on July 5. Journalists, who have been the object of insult and discrediting the informal ruler of the country, Bidzina Ivanishvili, and high-ranking government officials for years.

Today, the Prime Minister who is responsible for the punitive action against journalists and civil activists and members of minorities on July 5-6 will be telling you about the development of democracy in this country
Today, you will be told about the democratic achievements of the “Georgian Dream” by  the Prime Minister, who for years has protected and empowered violent groups and used them against those with dissenting political and civil views, as was shown on July 5, when the violence encouraged by him has reached unseen heights and turned into a punitive action against journalists and civil activists.

Today, you will be talking to the subordinate of the informal ruler of this country, Bidzina Ivanishvili, who for numerous times tried to deceive not only the citizens of this country, but the international partners as well, by declining to heed his obligations, a demonstration of which was the appointment of the judges to the supreme court, which was a cynical and harsh violation of the document you mediated.

You must know that as long as this man, Irakli Gharibashvili, is the Prime Minister of Georgia, the lives of almost all journalists and citizens, as well as the dignity and free future of this country, are in danger. This is the kind of man you are meeting  today, and we want you to know it," the media said in a statement.
