You will find out about the final decision in a couple of days – Bokeria on the opposition’s coordination for the elections

Giga Bokeria, the leader of European Georgia, confirms that the opposition is consulting on a common candidate in the local elections. He said he would announce the final decision in 2 days.

Bokeria also confirms that the opposition has considered Nika Melia as the sole candidate for Tbilisi mayor and Elene Khoshtaria as the chairperson of the City Council.

According to Bokeria, European Georgia considers it necessary to coordinate and reach an agreement on the self-government elections in Tbilisi, as well as candidates for mayor and chairpersons of the City Council  the key cities.

 "In our opinion, reaching this agreement is belated, but it is better late than even  later, or never. Therefore, we hope and plan that in just a couple of days all of you will have an answer to this question. The names you have mentioned  absolutely legitimately were a subject of discussion throughout this period and the final decision will be announced to everyone in a couple of days," Bokeria said.
