Violence against women MPs | UNM files a complaint with the Ethics Council

Published:

Members of the United National Movement have filed a complaint with  the Parliamentary Ethics Council. The use of force against women MPs in the session hall by Shalva Papuashvili, Irakli Zarkua and Levan Mgaloblishvili was condemned in the complaint. The "National Movement" says that this fact should be followed by an appropriate response and it  will use all the levers for this, but in the conditions of the "Georgian Dream" they do not hope for an objective investigation.

Nona Mamulashvili explains that the "Georgian Dream" encourages street violence and now it has introduced "this culture" in the parliament, which is inadmissible.

"The ethics committee is obliged to consider this issue and to draw a conclusion from what happened there. There is nothing to actually investigate. You saw what was happening live, but we still have to do it formally, because such behavior should be stopped in the Parliament, it should be forbidden," Nona said. Mamulashvili.
