Oligarch Ivanishvili is demolishing the art museum | What fate awaits the historic building

Tbilisi may soon be left without one of its oldest buildings and 2 centuries of history - the historic building built in 1835, the first European influenced Hotel in Tbilisi, home to the Russian Exarchate Seminary, where Iakob Gogebashvili and even Stalin studied - may soon be demolished.

The Ministry of Culture has already issued a recommendation that the Art Museum building is no longer subject to restoration. The museum is located just in a few meters from Ivanishvilis Panorama Tbilisi and even 5 years ago, experts suggested that the area would be in the oligarch's interests.
