The hearing of the case of Nika Melia, the chairman of the United National Movement, continued today in the Tbilisi City Court with the interrogation of the prosecution witnesses. All three witnesses were representatives of various law enforcement agencies.
According to the prosecutor, Amiran Guluashvili, the witnesses talked about the circumstances of the injuries at the court hearing.
"They described in detail the circumstances of their injuries sustained by the protesters, as well as the fact that the action was violent for a very long time, until late at night," said Amiran Guluashvili.
According to Nika Melia's lawyer, Giorgi Kondakhishvili, none of the witnesses had any contact with Nika Melia and did not hear his call.
"I emphasize that none of them had any contact with Nika Melia, they did not hear his call directly, and they denied any contact, violence or call for such from Nika Melia," said lawyer Giorgi Kondakhishvili.
For reference, the next hearing in the case of Nika Melia is scheduled for September 9.
